IN most cases, starting Microsoft Outlook 2013 is as simple as double-clicking an icon, choosing an item from the Start menu, or double-clicking a tile on the Windows 8 Start screen. However, there are some optional ways to start Outlook that either simplify how you start Outlook or cause Outlook to function in certain ways. For example, you can use command-line switches to have Outlook open specific types of items (such as a new message window) on startup.
