7.2. Prerequisites for Software Updates

Before you can plan and set up Software Updates, you need to be familiar with its components, so you can determine which ones must be installed and configured for your environment. Table 7.2 provides a list of these components.

Of course, you will also need to configure a reporting point before you can use the Software Update reports. We go into more detail on configuring a reporting point in Chapter 11.
