Learn the Keys on the Keyboard

Since VoiceOver is totally dependent on the keyboard, make sure you know where all the keys are and what they're called. Once VoiceOver is turned on, you can practice: Press Control Option K to turn on keyboard practice (“K” for keyboard). Each time you press a key, the voice tells you the name of the key.

If you have the Caption Panel turned on (see pages 392 and 395), you will also see the symbol for that key. This, of course, isn't useful for someone who is blind, but may be useful for an assistant.
