Networking

The iBook enables you to connect to a network two ways:

  • 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet. This is a standard network connection method supported by most computers.

  • AirPort. This is a new, wireless networking solution codeveloped by Apple Computer and Lucent Technologies. To use AirPort for networking, you must have an AirPort card installed inside your iBook (required antennas are already installed) and an AirPort base station (Figure 4) connected to a phone line or network.

The iBook comes with all the software you need to use either network connection method.
