Chapter 25. Network-Based Linux Installation

Fedora Linux allows you to do operating system installations via a network connection using a Kickstart server. It is frequently much faster than using CDs, and the process can be automated. The procedure is fairly simple:

  1. Connect the new server (installation client) to the same network as the server with the preloaded installation files (installation server).

  2. Boot the installation client from a specially created boot CD.

  3. Enter your preferred installation method (FTP, HTTP, NFS) ...
