Summary

In this chapter we learned about the Shuriken Particle System and used it to add some visual flair to our game. We added an effect for when the player sustains damage and an effect that plays when coin boxes are struck.

We learned about Unity’s audio system and used it to apply sound effects to several of our player events as well as the collection of our coins. We also discussed the value of visual and audio feedback to the player’s experience.

Finally, we took steps to polish some of the game’s other elements. We created a smoother follow-cam and tidied up the death sequence in order to make the game more presentable and provide a better gameplay experience.
