Rightsizing changes incremental budgeting to reducing resources for some departments and increasing for others. Table 8-8 shows the effect of “rightsizing” an operating budget of $580,428 on each department of ODU’s College of Engineering and Technology. The reallocation of funds resulted in a substantial budget reduction in one department (Dept. E) and significant increases in two (Dept. C and Dept. F).
