ASSIGNING SECTIONS AND CATEGORIES TO YOUR SITE MAP

In general, try to map the sections and categories for your site to the site map. Recall the site map for Fictitious Elementary School in Lesson 2:

Let's take the item for Our Classes first. In this case, we have a top navigation item, Our Classes, with secondary navigation, one item per grade level at the school plus some extra items like music and art. In this case, the section would be Our Classes, and the category could be unique to each item underneath: First Grade, Second Grade, Music, Art, and so forth.

But what about the Our Classes page itself? This would be the overview page for the Our Classes portion of the website. It would not fit into any of the categories I've proposed, so we'll need to create a category just for it. Usually, I duplicate the section name as a category name in a case like this. That would mean that the article titled Our Classes has a section Our Classes and a category Our Classes assigned to it.
