  2. Develop plans to mitigate threats and deal with contingencies.
  3. Implement your plans with vigour.

Things go wrong

Things go wrong: let’s take that as a given. No matter how good your plans are, they will not be a complete representation of reality, which is prone to uncertainty.

Risks are uncertain events that can impact upon your outcomes. In particular, we focus on those events whose effects are adverse: the threats. So Step 6 is all about identifying and managing those threats. We shall follow a simple four-part process for doing this.
