TEAM DYNAMICS ANALYSIS

Effective or high-performance teams, described in Chapter 5, have the right people to do the right jobs at the right time and place. They also balance their process and task dynamics. A low-performance team may not have the right people, but even if it does, its most likely problem is a lack of balance. The team may carry task-or process-related behaviors to dysfunctional extremes, or some team member’s behavior may create barriers. A mature, stable team (usually engaged in production activities) should reflect maintenance behaviors that satisfy both task and process needs of the team.
