Facing the challenges of leading your team

When you have any level of management or supervisory role it is usually presumed that you will be comfortable leading people and know how to create teams. If only it were that easy!

Can you remember how you felt when you were given your first position where you were responsible for managing and leading others? Probably a mix of excitement and apprehension as you looked forward to the challenge. Happy that you had been given the role and that someone felt you were capable of doing it. Then the realisation dawns, the job requires a whole range of skills which you are not sure you possess.
