Part II. Building the Perfect Beast

Building the Perfect Beast

In this part . . .

This part puts the fun in design fundamentals. It begins with Chapter 4 and the basics of creating a database application. I walk you through all the questions you need to ask, pictures you need to draw, and requirements you need to write in order to create an (ahem) fully functional application. But that's just getting you started.

Chapter 5 focuses on designing a looker of a layout, with neatly arranged fields, well-organized data, pictures, and more. In Chapter 6, I offer tips and tricks for enabling your users to search and sort data through your layouts. Chapter 7 is all about whiz-bang features you can add, such as buttons that run scripts, drop-down lists, and custom menus.
