Synopsis

Use COLUMNS to determine the number of columns in the specified array.

To Calculate

=COLUMNS(Array)

The Array argument is required for this function.

Example

Figure 16-5 illustrates how COLUMNS is used to figure out the number of rows in the specified array. In this example the function is used to determine the number of sales locations. The ROWS function indicates the number of sales periods (months) in the array.
