Name

RSQ

Synopsis

Use RSQ to find the square of the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient through the specified x and y data points. This is usually called the coefficient of determination in linear regression situations.

To Calculate

=RSQ(Known_Y's, Known_X's)

Both arguments are required for this function.

Example

Figure 15-40 shows how RSQ is used to find the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient for the specified x and y values. The example also shows the results when the SLOPE function is applied to the same values to find the slope of the linear regression line through the points.

Use RSQ and SLOPE to compare x and y axis values
