Name

CORREL

Synopsis

Use CORREL to examine two different arrays of values and determine the correlation. For example, you could compare the distance to the office array to the number of bus riders in a second array.

To Calculate

=CORREL(Array1, Array2)

Both arguments must be specified for this function.

Example

Figure 15-7 illustrates how CORREL is used to compare two arrays and determine the correlation. The example compares the values in each array and determines the correlation between the changes in values. The example illustrates that there is a strong, positive, linear relationship between the number of bus riders and the distance to work.
