Name

CHITEST

Synopsis

Use CHITEST to use the chi-squared distribution to determine whether the actual values of the observations match up to the expected values of the observations.

To Calculate

=CHITEST(Actual_Range, Expected_Range)

Both arguments are required for this function and must contain the same number of values.

Actual_Range

Specifies a range of numeric values that indicates the actual results of the observations.

Expected_Range

Specifies a range of numeric values that indicates the expected results.

Example

Figure 15-5 illustrates how CHITEST is used to determine whether the results are accurate using the chi-squared distribution to compare actual and expected values.

CHITEST compares actual results to expected values and returns a decimal value indicating the comparison of the values
