HOUR
Synopsis
Use
HOUR to find out the hour portion of
a specific time. The function returns a value between
0 (12:00 midnight) and 23
(11:00 PM). For example, if the time is 3:45 PM, the HOUR function
will return a value of 15. In other words, since
Excel deals with a 24-hour clock, HOUR returns the hour portion of
the time value based on a 24-hour clock.

HOUR is typically used to determine the hour value of a time in another cell. Figure 13-7 illustrates how you can get the hour value from a serial number in another cell.
