Part One: Background

This part provides the necessary background for the remainder of the book. DevOps is a movement that envisions no friction between the development groups and the operations groups. In addition, the emergence of DevOps coincides with the growth of the cloud as a basic platform for organizations, large and small. Part One has three chapters.

In Chapter 1, we define DevOps and discuss its various motivations.
