Chapter 10. Logging

There are two distinct kinds of logging that are discussed in this chapter: transactional logging and diagnostic logging. DB2 engages in transactional logging to keep records of database changes for run-time rollbacks, crash recovery, and backup recovery. Diagnostic logging involves the capturing and recording of data when database errors occur.
