Contextual menus are sometimes known as shortcut menus.
If a menu command has a shortcut key, it appears on the menu beside the command. For example, the Save command has a shortcut key of Ctrl-S (in Windows) or Command-S (in Mac OS). Pressing that key combination invokes the Save command without displaying the File menu.
