Because craigslist was originally created to connect the folks in San Francisco, until recently its home page was the Bay Area site. With virtual communities in all 50 states and more than 560 cities worldwide, however, on your first visit you’ll find yourself on the sites page (www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html), which has links to all the community home pages (see Figure 2.1). On the craigslist sites page, click the location nearest you. If you then choose a state or country, you’ll be able to select from a list of communities in that region. Later in this chapter you’ll learn how to set the default to your own hometown when you open an account.
