Streaming and Caching Call Flows

Now that a basic understanding has been established for the definition of streaming and caching and how each can be configured and controlled, it is time to take a closer look at some call flows using both of these concepts. Earlier in this chapter it was mentioned that streaming modes can be mixed and matched with different modes of caching. Each of these matches represents a slightly different interface between the IVR Media Player and the HTTP client. Following are the four calls flows that were mentioned earlier:

• Streaming from cache

• Streaming without cache

• Nonstreaming from cache

• Nonstreaming without cache
