Cisco Nexus 6004 Switches Features
The Nexus 6004 is shown in Figure 2-31. Currently, there are two models, the Nexus 6004EF and the Nexus 6004X. The main difference is that the Nexus 6004X supports Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN). The Nexus 6004 is 4RU 10 G/40 G Ethernet switch; it offers eight line card expansion module (LEM) slots. There are two choices of LEMs: 12-port 10 G/40 G QSFP and 20-port unified ports offering either 1 G/10 G SFP+ or 2/4/8 G FC. The Nexus 6004 offers integrated Layer 2 and Layer 3 at wire rate. Port-to-port latency is approximately 1 microsecond for any packet size. It offers up to 96 40 G QSFP ports and up to 384 10 G SFP+ ports.
