Subnet Rules with Layer 3 Switches

Thinking about subnets when using Layer 3 switches requires a little more work. When a network diagram uses router icons, there is a clear division of where the IP subnets will be needed, as demonstrated previously in Figure 13-3. By contrast, consider Figure 13-4, which shows a Nexus switch, which can be configured as a Layer 3 switch. Which of the four servers should be in the same subnet, and which should be in different subnets?
