Static Routes Using the Outgoing Interface

This first IPv6 static route example uses the outgoing interface option. As a reminder, for both IPv4 and IPv6 static routes, when the command references an interface, the interface is a local interface. That is, it is an interface on the router where the command is added. In this case, as shown in Figure 29-2, R1’s ipv6 route command would use interface S0/0/0, as shown in the top of Example 29-4.
