Chapter 4. The Cordless Telephony Profile

Introduction

The Cordless Telephony Profile provides the usage models described as the 3-in-1 phone. These new usage models accommodate general wireless telephony enabling Bluetooth solutions within the home or office environment. Bluetooth-enabled cordless handsets and multimedia PCs are all part of the 3-in-1 phone usage model allowing these devices to access a fixed telephone network, such as a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN).
