Chapter 11. Ineptness

Ineptness kept the big losers even more deeply ensconced in their sour spots. (See Table 11.1.) They did not have the skills to create best-value positions for their customers. They did not have the skills to defend the positions they occupied. Without these skills, they were not able to protect the positions they occupied. They were vunerable to displacement by more capable competitors.
