We are going to start our exploration of Ajax by modifying the
Performance.aspx page so that the performance data is retrieved using Ajax. To make the Ajax interactions more obvious, we are going to add a
select element to the page, which will let us select the data for the different athletes in the sample database. You can see the finished product in Figure 11-1. When the user selects a name from the drop-down menu, the appropriate data is loaded asynchronously from the ASP.NET server.
