The Email App

As explained earlier, Gmail and regular email are handled by two different apps. However, the Email app does not require a huge learning curve. The process of reading, replying, and composing messages is virtually identical in the two apps; if you know how to use one app, you’ll be perfectly comfortable using the other.

There are a few differences if you’re using an Exchange account. For instance, your Microsoft Exchange server supports folders, not labels. Likewise, you’ll see differences when you use a POP or IMAP account.

Rather than displaying labels on the left menu, as the Gmail app does, the Email app shows the more specific folders for your Exchange account, as shown in Figure 8–10.
