In early January 2014, Robert Keyes, the owner of Charleston Rigging, began to think about expanding his business. Charleston Rigging was a small, privately held company located in Charleston, South Carolina. It had two main divisions. One manufactured and sold chains, wire rope, and frames used to unload and load containers in the maritime industry. The other division was a metal fabricating shop where they did metal work, forging, and other kinds of custom metal work on a job-by-job basis.
