5.1 Introduction

Capacity tests ensure that an application provides the necessary performance for a certain number of users. Section 5.2 discusses the motivation for capacity tests and the fundamental challenges associated with the implementation of capacity tests. The concrete implementation of capacity tests is the focus of section 5.3.
