Exercise 2.2. Biped for Quadruped Character

In this exercise, you’ll create and pose a biped for a four-legged creature: a dog. For now, you’ll simply create the biped and set its parameters. Because the biped is created standing up, it won’t look much like a dog until you pose it in Exercise 2.3.

Load the file DOG_MESH.MAX from the CD.

Select the entire mesh. Make sure all body parts are selected, and not just the body itself.

Tip

You’d probably want to give this armless type of biped a wide stance to accommodate the object. The wide stance is achieved by scaling the pelvis horizontally.

Create a named selection set called MESH.

Right-click and choose Properties, make the mesh See-Through, and freeze the mesh.
