Your favorite way of learning just got better

Our most popular learning paths—the favorite way of learning on Safari—now include self assessments.

Check them out

See how you’re doing while you learn.

Self assessments are short, multiple-choice quizzes that you’ll take as you work through a learning path—they’re checkpoints along the way. Unlike simple memory tests you may have taken before, they give you quick insights into how you’re doing and take the guesswork out of learning.

Get instant feedback.

Take any self assessment as often as you like—or skip them altogether. There are no grades. And no one else sees your results.

When you answer a question, you’ll see your results instantly. If your answer was wrong, you’ll see why it was wrong, and then you can get it right—and understand why. You’ll learn as you go, and what you’ve learned will stick with you.

With Safari’s approach, self assessments are part of your learning experience. Learning is easier, you retain more, and feel more confident about your knowledge.

Why self assessments improve learning

The Safari learning platform just made learning more effective by bringing self assessments to our popular learning paths. We’re adding more structure and support for those wanting to master a given subject, accelerating your “speed to understanding” by combining our expert curated learning path with new self assessments available exclusively in Safari.

Unlike other learning systems that rely on simple memory-based tests, our self assessments enhance learning because they are embedded directly within the learning path. They don’t grade users at the end of a lengthy process, they are specifically designed to support the learning process by checking for understanding along the way. Our unique approach to self assessments:

  • Self assessments are short, quizzes that users can take as they work through a learning path. Each one has 4–7 multiple-choice questions and users can take the self assessments as often as they like, until they feel they’ve thoroughly learned the subject matter.
  • Self assessments in Safari are focused on helping users learn, rather than grading them based on right or wrong answers. If a user gets a question wrong, they’ll see why they got it wrong, and can go back and review the content until they understand it.
  • The results of the self assessments are visible to the user alone, and are not designed to compare individuals with each other. Safari self assessments are individual learning tools designed to help reinforce concepts the users have recently been exposed to.

We’re certain that learning paths with self assessments will help you learn better and faster as you solve for your next challenge.
