When Notre Dame expanded its football stadium in 1997, I was invited to a reception along with all former players for the university. Given the legendary tradition and culture of this wonderful school, this was an opportunity not to be missed. Players from the past 70 years would likely be present for the ceremony, including many of my former teammates.
