About the Author

Lena Sisco is a former Department of Defense (DoD) interrogator and has used her interrogation and deception-detecting techniques on members of al Qaeda and the Taliban during the Global War on Terror while she was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2002.

Lena has a master’s in archaeology and art from Brown University, and has excavated overseas as an archaeologist. She is a former Navy Intelligence officer who has been training the DoD since 2003 in detecting deception, behavioral congruency, elicitation, interrogation methods, tactical questioning, strategic interviewing, cross-cultural communications, enemy prisoner of war psychology, working with interpreters, and site exploitation.
