Chapter 27. Self-Sabotage Solution

At another mastermind Meeting, when it was my turn to talk about my week, I thought I could get away with not mentioning the fact that I poured about eight ounces of Shiraz/Cabernet into my laptop computer the previous Tuesday.

Wrong.

I had already talked about how I had written a new e-book between supper and bedtime this Tuesday, redesigned the Milagro web site, my new coaching program, the new CD factory I'm putting together. I thought I was through. And then Bill said, "What about your mandatory vacation?"

As it so often does, telling the story at the mastermind meeting led me to some new realizations.

It's true that I knocked over a glass of wine into my laptop computer. I already knew that. This very effectively put me out of business. I run all of my projects—from my audio and video projects to my web pages to my e-books—from my laptop computer.

But what I found myself talking about was self-sabotage. That's been my pattern for decades. I'll have a little success, and then I'll blow it. I'll save a little money, and then do something that makes the money just disappear.

I know that I'm responsible for everything that happens in my life. I learned that recently, and it's one of the most important things I've ever learned. It's the undeniable truth.

And when I realized that I was self-sabotaging again, I literally grabbed my subconscious mind by the throat and told it, "Not this time." It was almost physical.
