By using the method I demonstrated for making volume adjustments in the Project window, you are automating your audio levels. There’s no need to see flying faders or do any other sort of programming to create the proper balance of audio levels.

On the other hand, Cubase is designed to automate a lot more than volume levels. In fact, almost everything in Cubase can be automated, including the virtual instruments and effects.
