Using Effects While Recording Vocals

Using the steps you’ve learned so far, you should be able to start recording a vocal track just by hitting Record on the transport, but to get the most out of your vocal recording, there are still a few important steps you should take. One is to set up effects to use while recording your vocal part.

The typical way of monitoring effects during a vocal recording is through an audio track. Using this method, you can record a completely “dry” vocal take while hearing the audio the way you need to hear it during a vocal performance. Audio track monitoring should be available in most versions of Cubase, and I will discuss the details a little later in this section.
