Power, Presence, and Well-Being

ONE OF MY FAVORITE movies is called “About Time,” a romantic comedy starring British actor Domhnall Gleeson as the protagonist Tim, who learns that he can travel through time (under somewhat constricted conditions that prevent him from altering major world events and so on). Tim, a softhearted and likeable guy, initially uses this ability to repeat certain moments in his romantic life until he gets them “right.” After a few missteps, he is able to settle down with the girl of his dreams.

Tim also tries his hand at righting a few wrongs for his family members and eventually uses his gift to spend more time with his dying father. Along the way, he finds that one of the best uses of time travel is to live ...
