Does High Academic Performance Guarantee High Performance on the Job?

No. An individual can be outstanding academically but very weak in human-relations skills. The work environment is different, people are different, and the objectives in business are different from those in the classroom. It is fre-quently true that a student who is average in the classroom is outstanding on the job, and vice versa. Thus, some students who are high achievers academically might have more of an adjustment to make to the world of work than those who get more practical experience along the way.
