Get to know as much as you can about your client and find a way to make their lives easier. Pick a task close to your line of work and offer to grab it for your client. It doesn’t have to be something that you promise to do for them permanently—just offer to do it once in a while. To the client it shows initiative and demonstrates a clear interest in their business. It separates you from competitors who are too lazy or too stupid to think about helping out.
