You can’t win a fight with your client. Sound stupid? Perhaps, but I see account managers trying to win fights with their clients all the time. It is the proverbial kiss of death.

Clients generally don’t mind if you have a competing point of view on a topic. And a smart client will welcome different thinking on a subject. That said, you do need to remember the pecking order—and you are not the bird with the biggest beak! When a client is clearly making an argument in one direction and is clearly not going to move off that position, it is time to give in and align with his or her decision.
