If You’re a Manager or the Leader of a Group . . .

If you’re in a leadership or management position, you play an especially important role in creating a Culture of YES. People look to you for guidance and support, for inspiration and courage.

Start with yourself. If you find more ways to say YES, those in your group or team will, too. Be a positive role model — a living example of the success that comes from saying YES.

Make sure you’re walking your talk when it comes to saying YES. Don’t tell people that you welcome their suggestions and ideas, and then shoot down their ideas when they come to you. If you say you’re open to change and new thinking, then be open.
