Chapter 16. Productivity features

XSLT includes some advanced features that assist with the construction of stylesheets (simplifying or reducing the effort needed to create them). None of the features described in this chapter affects what can actually be achieved using a stylesheet. Variables, attribute sets and named templates can be used to avoid needless repetition, and an advanced method of building a template can sometimes reduce the number of templates needed. Also, single template stylesheets can be abbreviated. Finally, debugging of stylesheets in development can be assisted using messages.
