Chapter 15. Namespaces

Most of the examples in previous chapters have included a mixture of XSLT elements and HTML elements, and namespaces have been used to distinguish between them. The problem of mixing fragments of XML from different sources within a single data file is widely recognized, well beyond the application of XML being discussed in this book. The solution to this problem is the standard called 'Namespaces in XML'. This standard was produced by W3C and released as a recommendation on 14 January 1999.
