Chapter 14. Text format

Previous chapters have demonstrated how capable XSLT technology is at transforming XML documents into new XML structures, either to create new documents or to prepare material for publication. Yet XML data often needs to be processed for delivery to tools that are not XML-compliant. For example, there are a large number of very capable, text-based formatting languages, including RTF, TROFF and TEX. XSLT is able to produce output that conforms to the syntax of such languages.
