Chapter 4. Stylesheets

An XSLT stylesheet contains instructions that an XSLT processor uses to transform an XML document into another format. Typical stylesheets consist of little more than a set of templates. However, there are a number of other instructions a stylesheet can hold that influence the way that source documents are converted into output documents. Also, stylesheets can be linked to XML documents in a number of different ways and may be constructed from instructions in a number of separate data files.
