Summary

This chapter has explored MathML, an XML application that provides a means of encoding complex mathematical content. As an XML vocabulary, MathML is flexible enough to encode a high-quality visual representation of mathematical notation, as well as structural information relating to the actual mathematical content. This allows MathML to be used as both a presentation language for displaying math content and a content language for specifying the structure and semantics of math content.
