Peering Inside the Tool Chest

IBM's alphaWorks group has been busy at work with XML since its inception. IBM's commitment to the XML technology is clearly evident in the number of tools and utilities that have emerged from the alphaWorks group. The following are some of the more interesting tools created by IBM's alphaWorks group:

  • Xplorer

  • XML Viewer

  • XML Translator Generator

  • The XML Diff and Merge tool

All of these tools were developed in Java, which shouldn't be a surprise since Java is generally considered to be the programming language of choice for XML software development.
