Summary

Although DSOs are a technology that works fully only with IE5 (and to a lesser extent with IE4), they remain extremely useful—especially in an intranet situation in which the programmer controls the type of browser a client uses.

All in all, DSOs—and particularly XML DSOs with their support for both SQL syntax and the DOM—provide an exceptionally powerful tool for manipulating and sorting data on the client side.
